Good morning everyone,
I am making a matching pair of Krenov style planes for my son’s birthday. I am just curious if the small block planes also need a chip breaker. All your help would be appreciated.
Thanks and Happy Holidays to all !!

Block planes are bevel up, therefore, no chip breaker.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Thanks Hammer,
I knew that ! I am not sure why I even asked, probably cause I never made a block plane before.
Thanks for the reminder :)
Have a great holiday !

Post some pictures when you're done, John. A hand made plane will be special to use.Happy holidays to you, too.Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
I will try to do that...
I have a tendency to start projects around the shop for myself and not finish them ... working on a new bench, been in the planning for at least a couple of years. My sons birthday is in February so these planes should get done.
Thanks again for the reminder.
John
