My long suffering better half is on the hunt for some small ear muffs for one of her little urchins (she’s a teacher of < 5 year olds). All suggestions as to potential sources are encouraged.
Thank you!

Don,
I can't tell you how much I appreciate that link...my shop buddy is my 3 1/2 yr old grand daughter who loves to work in the shop with her Papaw...she's been making due with goggles, gloves, etc, that are probably made for eight year olds. I ordered more size appropriate stuff the minute I saw your post...can't wait to surprize her.
Neil
Glad I could help, Neil. My grandaughter is about 2 years older than yours. She and I are going to be building a playhouse when the weather gets a bit better.
Sounds like great fun...we tried a birdhouse...unfortunately her attention span did not extend to the roof...she went back to stacking pieces of wood and glueing (with my help) random pieces of wood which she carefully selected to make her version of a birdhouse...apparently for birds from another dimension or parallel universe....she is pretty good with a hand drill, a hammer and a LN #1 amoothing plane...let me know how the play house comes out..maybe I can plan on that for 2010. Thanks again.
Neil
Don, THANK YOU!
Paddy, I've given my local place a check, but no luck. I was a bit surprised that he doesn't stock that sort of thing - most folks go to the local big-box store, and he just can't compete.
You're welcome, Ed.
Ed, give a shout to the hunters, target shooters organizations or a mfg like Peltor(sp) for ear protection for the nippers. I am sure that there are youth sized models out there. Paddy
edit -just look , don had the answer---good job. pfh

I have 5 little workshop helpers...I have several pairs of the Peltor Junior earmuffs, but I have found that adult Peltors can squeeze down enough to fit kids as well. Child safety glasses are available from envirosafetyproducts.com, and I have found that small size 3M half face respirators fit the children's faces well.
