Have a nice day Lee
I made lots of canes for the Vets I called them Purple Heart Wood Canes For Purple Heart Vets. I take the to the VA hospital in Seattle to be given to the Vets.
I posted photos of them some time ago and asked others to make them for the Vets too. It's a good thing to do.

The Council on Aging, Peabody, Mass. woodcarving group did 30 or more in early spring. Its funny because some of the carvers are using walkers, canes, and wheel chairs. They jumped at the chance to help our disabled vets.Ron
Thanks for your reply. Sound like a good idea to go to the vet hospital. We didn't think of that. We planned to start with the local v'eterans affairs' office. The guy said he could come up with ten names for us right away. What wood do you usefor the shaft? Do you carve an eagle head? How do you decide the length of the cane?
