A few years ago I installed Carter guides on my Delta-Rockwell 14″ band saw. Changing blades has become a terrible chore. I’m considering re-installing the original guides. Is my experience unusual?

What's the problem? I have used both roller guides and Cool Blocks on my bandsaw and can't say that I see a problem changing blades with either.
I took them off a 14", too. Can't figure out what good they are. They made the top blade guard lift so part of the blade is exposed, don't work well with narrow blades, can't hardly get to the bottom ones, hate the eccentric adjustments, seem to remember table tilting problems. I can't remember any blade changing issues. I found them to be a waste of money.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Opposite experience here, I have them on a tuned up older Delta 14” and they are great. No more effort to change the blade than the OEM guides, I can do it in less than ten minutes. What have you found to be different?
