Poplar should be fine for a painted door.

Well my concern is not so much about paint the door, is mostly if the poplar going to warp..?? Thanks for your help guys !!!
Warping
I don't know that Poplar is any more (or, less) susceptible to warping than other species. The fact that it has been used as a secondary wood for drawers for hundreds of years is a reasonable endorsement, though.
Warping
Thanks Ralph, is much easier find poplar in this area that other wood, (Boise, ID).

Poplar is the best wood to work with - my opinion.
