Anybody ever use cyanocrolyte (super) glue for casework? specifically half blind dovetails that will be invisible to all but the closest lookers? I did my test fit with all my clamps and everything was so nice, that I left the clamps on and soaked in some thin superglue. I cant imagine using it for mortise and tenon or really anyting other than half blind dovetails and maybe sliding dovetails, but in this narrow circumstance, it seemed to work well. Comments? Am I headed for trouble ignorant of some salient fact?

Hey Dustin,
"Superglue" is for tight clearance parallel surface connections. You may have tight joints, but this adhesive doesn't fill gaps with the same strength. Also, it crystalizes with age, and doesn't take shocks well.
Stick with a good yellow glue and enjoy your skills of creating a quality product.

Superglue is super strong in tension but incredibly weak in shear. To test this, just glue your thumb to your index finger. A couple of minutes of rubbing the glued fingers against each other and voila your fingers are apart ! The same would be true of any joint like DTs that has to withstand shear force.
