I have a bottle of Satellite City Hot Stuff Super T CA glue. I don’t use much, nor frequently.
The problem is the spout is clogged up. I have to take the top and spout off and dip a straight pin in it to get some and apply it to whatever I am working on.
A fellow woodworker told me today that he stores his upside down. I need to ask him if he puts a pin in it or trusts the cap to keep the glue from running out.
So, two questions:
1. Any idea where I can get a new spout for it?
2. How do you store it so that it doesn’t dry out?
Thanks,

Alan,
LV also carries the caps. However, I just stick a small drill bit in my drill and drill through the dried glue. (Wonder how many times I can use the word "drill" in one sentence...) Craft Supplies USA sells "Cherry Pickers which look very much like brads with a big red ball on the end to serve as a handle.

Chris,
I am going to order a new one, keep it upside down and see if that works. If it doesn't, then it'll be your drill bit idea.
Thanks much,

Alan, CA glue is anerobic .You will find that it won't block the spout so much if you arn't in a hurry to cap it.Also squeeze the bottle a little after use and release, so it sucks the glue back from the spout. You may find inverting the bottle exacabates the problem. Jako

Help me understand anerobic in this case. A fellow woodworker said he stores his upside down (with the cap on, of course) and does not have any problem.
I do like the idea of letting the glue settle, then squeezing the bottle and letting it suck back in as much as possible.

Alan, I believe that the glue cures several ways
!) by exclusion of air, tight joints, for e.g. when it capilaries between two pieces of glass and cures.Threadlocker works in the same way(when put on a nut and bolt). In fact the air space in the bottle helps to stop it curing .
2) by exposure to moisture or of course the accelerator marketed with the product.
Therefore if you don't create a thin film between surfaces ,get as much sucked back into the bottle and leave it 5-10 min before capping you will have less hassle(Note I say less hassle) I find that putting it in its outer container and storing it in the freezer improves the shelf life.Beware if the kids find it and think it is some form of popsickle thir lips may be sealed for a long time ,a debatable attribute<G>
Jako,
Thanks for the additional info. I like your specificity of even how long to wait before capping.

I use a small drill to open a new hole also, if a pinch or two with pliars doesn't pop it loose. I don't think I would store it upside down. After it has been used a few times, lumps can form on the stem, and inside the cap, keeping from getting a perfect fit. After that, you will find an empty bottle, with the liner and a lot of small parts stuck to the bottom of your tool drawer or whatever you store it in. Don't ask how I know this.

Yea, this is a small planet we live on. I think we all know someone mutually. ha

You asked what anaerobic meant. Anaerobic means without oxygen (air). Hence it dries or reacts without oxygen. In contrast most paints, glues we use are aerobic or with oxygen - paints dry or solidify in the presence of oxygen.
