Hmmm… thereby hangs a tale… or tail!
Nice plane though… sad to put it in an ‘un-touchable’ box.

As someone at another forum has suggested, is this the "Reviewer's" model?
That's the one in the thread titled "The Marcou S15/BU Smoother-Reviewed". Philip posted that photo a whiile back after he made the plane.
"I cut this piece four times and it's still too short."
It is not "the reviewers model".You may want to see my message at this location:http://www.woodcentral.com/newforum/handtools.shtml.
The opening paragraph was edited by W/C-I had made reference to recent skirmishes and the happy fact that it now seemed that a sense of humour had replaced them.
The description there is a lot less cynical than than your few kindwords here Handy.
Gerard-hope you don't mind me chiming in there.Philip Marcou
I found it humorous when I read it there, as well. No offense intended. By the way, you need not worry about the vigorous discussion surrounding the person that authored the plane review. Your work speaks for itself.
Does the cat come with it?
No-too fat now to fit in the case. Unfortunately the underlying message at W/C was lost when they edited it .Philip Marcou
So what was the underlying message?
SawDust,
The pencil or the plane?? (sorry Philip)
Cheers,
eddie
I will make this short and sweet , the plane is magnificent and Derek's review was fault less.
The detractors didn't use the plane and almost all of them do not have the skills to judge the difference so they can stuff it. All the best Pat
Go Paddy!
I'm with you (it's Friday night)

Based on your assessment of my woodworking skills, you apparently have concluded that I would be wasting my money by acquiring Mr. Marcou's beautiful plane. Too bad, because it would be a joy to own.
HAN, it was not my goal to see ya DRUBBED. I was fed up with situation created "on the dark side" that effectively trashed a plane maker and a competent wood worker. I too would love a chance to push Mr. Marcou's plane or any new or old infill smoother, but for the time being I will have to push a Clifton 4 1/2, a LV BU, or a LN 5 1/2 Yorkie until the lottery gods smile upon me. MEA CULPA, Pat
No problem, my woodworking friend. And by the way, I always try tofind some humor in what I read here, no matter how serious the subject. When possible, I also try to return the favor in what I write.
In the case of the recent review, the messenger was shot before message was delivered.
