I recently completed a black walnut blanket chest with an aromatic cedar lining. The chest also has a cedar till with two small drawers inside. My problem is with the two drawer faces in the till, they are made out of tiger maple and are finished with a wipe on poly and have become sticky when they were enclosed inside the chest. Is there a finish that is not effected by the oils given off by the cedar? Thank you for any help you can give me.

grantura,
I would remove that poly with a light scraping and would reseal with a couple of coats of shellac.
You should be fine after that
