I just purchased a Makita 5 3/8″ 18 volt circular saw. I do a lot of cutting of expensive plywood. I am looking for a blade for this machine that will minimize chip out comparable to Forrest Duraline 8″ plywood blade. Anyone have any suggestions?

What blades have you researched that you don't like?

I have only been able to find a few blades on line by various sellers, but no reviews of any of them. Diablo, Dewalt, Frued, and vermont. Prior tool buying expierence makes me not want to guess.
I think that's an exotic size, I'd start with Makita. Failing that, talk to Forrest they make custom blades and may already keep what you want in stock.
Don't expect to get as good results with a hand held saw as with a table saw, any wobbling as the saw moves forward will cause some chip out no matter how good the blade is. The better approach, when possible, is to cut oversize with the hand held saw and then do the final cuts on a table saw.

Thanks . Actually I do a little of both, depending on the cercunmstances.
Scroll almost ½ way down the page for a Forrest blade.
