I got some new 71/4″ commercial saw blades at an auction that are for a worm drive saw with the diamond arbor hole. I have a sidewinder w/ the round arbor. Does anyone know where I could buy some of the diamond knockouts? Before I retired we always loads of these because we used all worm drive saws (ex-carpenter).

I imagine hardware stores will carry them. I used to work for Woodworkers Warehouse and we carried bushings for diamond cutouts to several different round arbors.I used to keep a few around, if I knew where they were I'd mail them to you.

Thanks for your reply Mike. My brother-inlaw found an old one in his tool box, ( ex carpenter also). It'll hold me till I find a supply.
I would be careful. I own both types of saws, so I knock out some of the diamonds for the worm drive, but I have never thought of going backwards and putting the diamond back in for the sidewinder. The insert and the blade were originally connected, so there could not be any slipping, but because they are not the same size, it seems like there would be too much slop between the insert and the hole. I can't say exactly what would happen, but I would be concerned that under stress it might not react well. Just a thought. Better safe than sorry.
