What is best way to put nails into birch wood & how do you cover the nail heads , so they are not seen after you stain??? Please help a rookie Thank You Michael Riley

hi mike,
are you working with birch ply or solid stock? if solid, and i had to nail, i would most likely pre-drill for fear of splitting. if plywood, it nails easily with hammer and nail or nail gun.

by the way, one can purchase various types of wood filler/putty to fill the holes that are left after the nails are set.
