Hello All !!! I am 77 and I have trouble reading the fine parts on rule, In Lee Valley’s 2007/2008 page 97 they have BIFOCAL SAFETY GLASSES # 22R73.10 .15,.20,..25 &.30 they range from + 1.0 to + 3.0 . I thought I would purchase a pair of the +3.0.
Has anyone used these before, and if so how did you like them.
Thanks Jack

II had a pair and they were good, safty plus you can see. Go to your eye glass place and have them tell you which one to buy. Shouldn't cost anything.
They look like good glasses...but...according to their website
they area out of stock for the 1.5 and 2.0 types with restock
not anticipated until 8/29/08. Oh well!

I have been using similar glasses for several years and they are great. I bought them at Woodcraft
I just went to my local optometrist and ordered a pair to my specs. (No pun intended.) In my case I requested Tri-focals, as I have found that when I bandsaw, my eyes are viewing the cut-line just between the distance and close-up focus points.

I've been using "cheater" safety glasses for five years. I love them.
In addition to the offering that you found from Lee Valley, you'll find LOTS of other suppliers if you do a simple web search.
I've bought some from (IIRC) SafetyGlasses.com , and I remember hundreds of other online vendors.

Jack,
I bought some bifocal safety glasses a couple months ago. I've found I like them a lot, especially in our metal shop. I looked around for quite a while before buying them and located a source that priced their stuff for nearly half what I thought I'd have to pay for high quality safety glasses.
The best prices I found was at http://www.safetyglassesusa.com. They stock a large selection of bifocal safety glasses. I prefer safety glasses that are more like my regular glasses so I bought some of these: http://safetyglassesusa.com/tahrxsafread.html
You can not go wrong with bifocal safety glasses for the price. It will make you cry when you start scratching up your $200 pair from the Dr. I have found a wide selection of bifocal safety glass here.

I have bought the Rendevous model since I like the way the temple has a "ratchet" adjustment so I can put the bifocal lens right where I want to place it.

Hope this helps-
I just bought two pair of these at 2.00 strength. They're very light and comfy.
