Hi, Iam currently rebuilding a vintage Scotty camper. The problem I am having is that I can’t ger the 1/4″ maple plywood to bend around the 12″ raduis on the corners of the camper. I’ve tried a couple of different methods but nothing has worked. Next I thought that I would kerf cut the backside of the plywood to help make it bend. .. What do you think.
Thanks Rick

Try buying 1/4" bendible plywood. It is so flexible and easy to work with. You can it in different thickness. Ordered mine from the local lumber co.
Rick, If it is single veneer core 1/4" ply you can sand the backside veneer off the ply therefor leaving you with the core veneer and maple veneer on one side, this will bend easily.

Ask your lumberyard about Wacky wood. Mine stocks it, others can likely order it. I don't know what thicknesses are available. Just another name for "bendable" plywood.
If you only have a few pieces to make, kerfing works fine. You won't have to cut very deep to get the bend you need. If you have alot of parts to make, bending ply is a better choice.
