Watch your knees on those holdfasts. Looks like the steering wheel is a little small, which end does the propeller go on?
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Ronaway,
It appears to be a basic Roubo without the plank hook/wedge.
A classic - one of the very oldest known bench designs.

I kind of like it. Not big on the wheels for aesthetics, but a Ruobo with a twist. I wish I had a leg vise on mine, and the board jack . . . that'd come in mighty useful sometimes. He did well in incorporating that into the design.

RW,
Visually the handwheels are a big departure from what we're used to seeing on a traditional looking bench, but having had the opporunity to use these vises on a bench that Jameel brought to the one of the Lie-Nielsen shows, the advantages of the handwheel becomes immediately evident. Not having a handle that swings up above the surface of the workbench means no hassles with moving stuff out of the way of the more traditional straight handle and the hardware in these vises allows you to precisely meter the amount of pressure applied, plus they move very fast with the handwheels.
Mike the price listed on Jameel's blog is $3195.00
RonIf you're too open minded your brains will fall out.
I hope it's small enough to fit through the door.
That's actually not a bad price considering Lie-Nielsen's bench is $4000 and it doesn't include the Benchcraft hardware

Hi Ron,
Do you have any idea how much Jameel will be asking for it at WIA?

Hi, I was at the Benchcrated blog yesterday (7-28) and saw the pics.
I think the price was $3100.00
Hi Tomcarver, I saw that. $3100 isn't a bad price considering the Lie-Nielsen Roubo bench is $4000 and it doesn't have any Benchcrafted hardware on it.
Jameel is a very talented woodworker. I've been a fan of his work for some time.

Ron,
That's sweeeeeet!
Some great links off that page too. I wonder if it will be at the Hand Tool conference in Valley Forge, PA in October. Thanks for sharing with us.

Bob, chances are it will be there unless Jameel sells it in St Charles, IL in the WIA design conference. Stop by and meet Jameel and Ron. They have some pretty amazing tools they both sell. I wish I was going!!!

Mike,
I'm pretty Jeeped about going. Prolly order the ticket tomorrow or at least prior to Aug. 3 (reduced price end date). Hope to get a chance to visit as many folks as I can and learn a ton.

I was one of the lucky ones last year as the event sold out in a few days. The Marketplace will be filled with a bunch of cool tools you won't find at Rockler or Woodcraft.

Is the Octoberr WIA sold out yet?
T.Z.
I don't think so. I believe this year's events hold a larger amount of people than last year's that's why they haven't sold out so quickly. There may be some classes that are full but you will have to check the website to find out.

Mike & Tony,
I just registered and got all the sessions I chose. Not sure if that means they aren't sold out yet.

They're not. If they were the class would have said closed. Happened to me last year.
