I have been subscribing to Woodworking magazine for about a year now and have decided I want to take some beginner classes in woodworking. I have not been able to find any classes in my area. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find these classes or know of any in the general Los Angeles (San Gabriel Valley) area? I have tried searching internet and looking in back of magazines, but classes seem to be mostly in the east or northwest. Thanks for any help. Deb

Deb,
Post this over at Knots forum. You'll get more responses over there.
good luck!
Deb,
Cerritos College is fairly close to you and their woodworking program has a good reputation.
Good luck,

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.
I just took my first class at a woodworker's supply store called Woodcraft, here in the Chicago-land area. They offer a variety of classes, from general furniture making to classes on specific tools. The class I took was called "Mastering the Router" which was a one-day class. Next week I am signed up for a class called "Furniture Design and Construction", again, a one-day class.
The content of these classes are exactly what I had been looking for, but they are not cheap. I had been looking for classes through our local college and/or school district adult education program, and didn't find anything.
I hope this helps. Also, if anyone has other suggestions, I will be reading.
