Thanks for all the advice and opinions on the bandsaws. I went to the local Woodcraft store and bought the Rikon 10-325. Took me 6 hours from store to sawing wood. The set-up was easy….I bought a mobile base for it also. Very good fit and finish. The manual has its moments though ( lucky me I am an aircraft mechanic ) and I figured out what they were trying to say. The bearing guides are easy to adjust, I did install bigger mounting bolts for the saw to the cabinet….stock bolts to me were to small. My main must have items were the cast iron wheels, cast iron table trunnion mounts, 13 inch resaw. All in all I am pleased with the purchase and would reccomend it to anyone looking for a 14 inch BS.
Also the Wood craft salesperson told me Steel City was having distribution problems but didn’t think it was a long term problem. Seems they gave there machines to dealers on consignments instead of the dealers payng for them. Needless to say..they made alot of machines but received no payment from the dealers. Steel City has since asked for payments or return the machines. Now they have alot of inventory and are trying to get there distribution back up to speed.
Thanks again…..

I was thinking about mentioning the Rikon in the earlier post, but thought you had enough ideas to think about.
I just bought the same saw myself, and I am more than happy with it. It is a well designed machine, a lot of thought went into it. And for the price I was truly surprised.

Also no need for a riser block
