Help! After resawing a piece of red oak on the bandsaw, I now have 1 book matched piece 3/4″ thick, and one that is 3/4″ with a 1/4″ void where the bandsaw decided to drift. This void will be on the back side, and I was wondering if anyone has a good way to fill this void?
Was thinking of using wood filler, or passable yellow glue mixed with sawdust and then sanding to correct thickness. Since I can make this the backside, it will not show, just needs to be stable, and same thickness.
Would appreciate any help from someone who has made the same d** mistake.
Thanks.

i would plane the back side down untill it was flat and then glue another thin piece to it (laminate).. make it a bit thick and the plane to the final thickness.
Thanks Turn
I guess this seams like the best way to go, but I hate to loose thickness. I think I will plane to 1/4" and laminate in 3 sections. Will make it stronger anyway.
Thanks for the advice.
I agree with Turnstyler, that sounds best to me.
