   Well I think (which gets me in trouble) that the consensus is that both are great machines, both have their idiosyncrasies or quirks you might say. But it seems that there have been a lot of complaints about customer service issues more so with Laguna than with MiniMax. With that said though I happen to have a LT16HD on hold along with a couple Resaw King blades and some misc. blades. I know I will be real happy when I receive it, it should last me for the rest of my life and be more machine that I will probably ever need.

   I have the Laguna LT16HD and I flat out love this saw.  Gobs of power, (5hp Baldor) great resaw capacity, (16 3/8") excellent fence and ceramic guides.  Cons?  Price!

   I have the MM16. Bit on the clunky side, IMO, for the amount paid. It is very hefty and solid OTOH. My b*tch is with the fit and finish around the throat plate, the fence, a numerous other small things that collectively add up to make me wish I'd done something different. But it seems I'm in the minority on this.

   Maybe it's the smartest unit out there. I dunno. Nonetheless, when a bumbling idiot is the smartest guy around, I still have a hard time calling him Einstein.
