Hello all . I have a small bandsaw 12″ x 6″ (and a small workshop to use it in) My question is has anybody filled the inside space frame areas to reduce the voids that fill with sawdust? I thought about filling with spray foam so that the amount of free air space inside the machine would be reduced and the extractor more efficient.
comments or advice would be appreciated. Regards Teabag.

Lets just say......
Don't do it. Vacume or blow the dust out. Expanding foam will seriously screw up your bandsaw. Things like rubber dampening pads under the feet if the saw will reduce alot more sound and vibration. As for stability, only cast iron will reduce it.
Not sure what your extractor is; I'm assuming Shopvac type) and I'm a bit confused by the description of your bandsaw. I have one of those old Delta 3 wheeled bandsaws that I use often for small pieces, kind of an in-between the 14" and a scroll saw; armed with a 1/8" blade all the time. Works really good and is very handy.
I also use a Shopvac but I modified it slightly. I ran it into the normal DC connection but I added a Y adapter and ran hose up to the top of the table, collecting from both. Not 100% but better and my theory is to get the dust B4 it gets into the saw.
Maybe partially filling the interior voids, at least to the extent that the little corners are not so abrupt might help but I wouldn't get carried away with it. Could cause you more problems than it will solve.
