Hi Everybody,
I am looking to finally get the bandsaw blade I should have had all along for my Grizzly G0555. I have the riser block so I am outfitted for wider resawing but to be honest I don’t do that much with it these days. That said I’d like to be getting the most out of it when I do use it and so am looking to get the vaunted 1/2″, 3 tpi, skip-tooth blade that Michael Fortune and others advocate. I looked it up at BC Saw and they are very friendly and informative but I was just looking for a confirmation of their recommendation to go with a regular “alternate” tooth set as opposed to the “raker” set, where every third tooth is straight with no set to rake the chips out of the cut. the representative said that for general purpose woodworking on material that is not too delicate and that absolute smoothest cut is not as important then the “alternate” set is okay. That seems right to me as well, any thoughts? Thanks a lot!

Alternate tooth for re-saw is the way for me... Find the right feed speed for your saw with the blade. Play with scrap (both hard-wood and soft-wood) and you will know before you ask. :>)
Sarge..
Thanks guys for the replys, I'll go with the alternate set. Now, if I could just get the kids to let me have some time in the shop.... :)
