Gary,
I will be purchasing a 14″ bandsaw, and am seeking input as to what you would consider a good general purpose blade to be? 3 TPI, 6 tpi, skip tooth, etc. I remember you had mentioned it in one of your classes, but I can’t remember the specific style. Thanks for any advice.

Hi Lew,
A good general purpose blade for my shop would be a 3/8" 3tpi hook blade. This is a little coarse and aggressive with the hook pattern but I prefer it for ripping. If you want a smoother cut, go with a 4 tpi skip. But get a 1/4" blade, 4-6 tpi, for those scrollwork type cuts you'll run into as well. Good luck. Gary
