1. I bought the Jet JWBS-14DX saw and it came with a 6 TPI blade already losely on the wheels. The blade is oily, and I assume it so because of corrosion protection. Should the oil be removed, and if so, is there a convenient method? And what about gettting the oil off the rubber on the wheels?
2. I also bought the riser block, and the set came with a blade (3/8 x 105 x 0.5) – at least that’s what the instructions say. But with the tensioner released I can’t get the blade over the wheels. It seems like it might be about 0.5 – 1″ short. Is there a trick to putting it on? I just assumed there would be plenty of slop to allow it to fit over the wheels. I measured the riser block and it is 6.125″ tall, so the total increase in blade length compared to the standard blade should be about 12.25″

A fairly gentle solvent for oil and cosmoline is mineral spirits/paint thinner. You might want to check that the ways on the tensioning devise are not jammed, just to make sure the upper wheel has actually dropped fully. You shouldn't have any problems getting the blade on. Forcing it on by spinning the wheel is a good way to pinch a finger, real hard!
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
