Zappa,
I live near Washington, DC, which isn't all that far from Baltimore. I am an active member of the Washington Woodworkers Guild. If you ever get down this way on the third thursday of a month, let me know and come with me to one of our meetings.
There is a man named Alan who is an active member of woodworkers group in Harrisburg. To meet him, write to Planesaw here on Knots. He is active on Knots.
A number of years ago, someone told me about a big tool and woodworking store in Baltimore. If a name stands out in your mind, let me know and I'll tell you if it is the one I am thinking about. I believe that if you go there, you will find ways of contacting a lot of woodworkers in the Baltimore area.
Hope that helps.
Mel

Zappa,
I haven't done any checking , but my guess is there is a group in Baltimore. I believe there is a Howard County Woodworker's Guild. Probably another one or two in the metro Balt-mer area.
As Mel said, we have SAW-PA (Susquehanna Area Woodworkers - Pennsylvania) that meets in Harrisburg, plus a turner's club, a woodcarvers's club, a scroll saw club, and a canemaker's club (they meet the 5th Tuesday of the month).
There is also the Susquehanna Trail Woodworking Guild in York. And, there is a group in Lancaster. And I believe a carver's club down around East Berlin.
I have seen the group Mel is a member of and they are quite active and talented.
Don't recall the various locations, but there are several listings on the web (including FWW) that have club information.

Hi ... I'm in Charles Town, WV. I moved here 2.5 years ago to get a house (lived in a condo in Frederick - nasty). I've built a woodshop in one of the two garage bays. Now I'm woodworking after a 12 year absence and loving it. I used to woodwork when I live in York, Pa. I moved to Frederick in '89.

I'm in Forest Hill, Harford County.
Thanks to everyone who chimmed in... I have been working in a shop for about a year and I am a bit uninspired with the work I am doing... I would very much like to do a bit more at home but I have not had the money to get some much needed equipment. I would love to come visit one of your shops and visit with people who love what they do... Z
I have some tools I'm selling - part of a woodshop from a disbanded high school in east Baltimore - I might be able to help you with both hand and power tools. Contact me at [email protected]
