I’ve achieved a beautiful rich reddish brown color on hard maple cabinets using dye stains followed by General Finishes Candlelite gel stain. Although, pretty the color is too reddish-orange for my customer’s liking. Is there another color of gel stain or a glaze that I can use to counter balance the reddish-orange color- making the color more pure brown?
Thanks,
Lyptus

Color
The counter color is raw umber - but not sure what the name is by the manufacturers you're using, - another issue is can the glaze that's on there still be blended with another glaze - it's probably too dry. Toning my make everything too dark.
Maybe there is a way to wash off some redish color with a scotch brite pad and turps then add some raw umber either by wiping or spraying. Please try a small spot before jumping in fully , there may not be an answer here - hard to tell sight unseen
