I want to buy the auriou cabinet rasp 10″ 11g and would like to know where this falls for finish between the 9g and 15g range.

The higher the number, the finer the finish.

Consider the new Iwasaki rasps. Much cheaper and by all accounts equally as good. Probably available at a number of suppliers, but I know Woodcraft sells them. I have both Auriou and Iwasaki. Since using the Iwasakis, I don't see a need to spend 3 times as much on the more expensive rasps.
