Hi. I need to attach a large mirror to a solid surface without using any frame. So I need to have a method which probably includes some kind of adhesive between the mirror back and the mounting surface (which will either be a solid wood surface or a drywall surface). Any suggestions? Thanks.

Go to a glass shop and get a tube of the special adhesive they use for this. The solvents and chemicals in some conventional glues will attack the mirroring, eventually turning the silver reflective side black, which you don't want to have happen. You can probably also find it on line, Google "mirror adhesive" or something similar.
It doesn't hurt to have a mechanical attachment ,clips or the like, in a few places around the edge of the mirror. I've seen large mirrors attached to dry wall tear off the wall after several years taking a chunk of the dry wall off at each adhesive spot. If you live in earthquake country this may be a legal requirement.
Also, a large mirror will be flexible. If the wall isn't flat you may get a slight, but disturbing, fun house mirror effect if the mirror gets distorted by the wall.
