Dear Mr. Conover and Others,
I am building a cherry expansion dining table for my daughter with a total of 6 BB ends. All are fit and ready to peg and she informed me that she did not like the look of the pegs. I know there is a way to peg from the bottom but I wondered if you could glue the middle 4 inches and then work your way out attaching with Kreg screws and slightly larger holes?
Thanks for your help, Gordon Davis

Your idea would work fine (I have even used nails). I would, however, avoid glue. Drilling blind holes from the bottom with a small Forstner Bit is quite easy. A drill press is the easiest but a drill with a stop works fine tool. With the breadboard in place, drill exactly on center then equally spaced at strategic spots to both edges. Now remove the bread board and file all but the center hole in the main top longer across the grain with a rat tail rasp. I have also used a chain saw file for this which works slowly but works. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
With best regards,
Ernie conover
