In that honor, I oiled the arbor on my table saw this morning.
A fine thought, jackplane. Wonder if I can find an Acer curlyonicus at the nursery. No? Sheesh.
forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
How about planting an Arborvitae ? Get two things done at once ;-) Kidding aside, I plant a fruit tree with the Grandchildrens help. So far 3 Apples, 2 types of cherries, 2 pears, and a row of Elderberry if you want to call them a tree Blueberries are a bush right, got them too. Only they get the berries and cherries before I do.

You could also make a donation to The National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Avenue, Nebraska City, NE 68410. They will usually give you a few seedlings when you do that.

Hi cadiddlehopper,
Unfortunately where I live (upperfrost patch in New Hampshire) the ground hasn't thawed enough to plant yet. But I always make a donation each year and by the time the seedlings get here, the ground is ready and I can plant them.
So far I have 22 thriving trees from their seedlings over the years and always look forward to more. Great post and thanks to jackplane for reminding everyone.
Regards,
Bob @ Kidderville Acres

excellent idea. it's raining all day here, but I'll also contact the local Arbor Day group, see if I can plant something soon.Expert since 10 am.
The season doesn't matter. The NADF ships at a time appropriate for your part of the country. Not to worry.Cadiddlehopper
