I am trying to replace some worn leather belts that drive my antique lathe. I would like to replace them with rubber belts but cannot find a supplier to order them from. The original belts were 1 to 11/2 inches wide. Does anyone know of a custom supplier?

Go here: http://www.mcmaster.com/ and enter the search term "flat belt", including the quotes. This will bring you to an information page that will list half a dozen belt materials, leather and synthetics, that you can click on and buy in premade widths and lengths.

John,
Thanks for the help. Looks like I will finally get that old monster up and running.
