It is usually about this time of year that Lee Valley / Veritas comes out with a new tool. Anyone seen one this year?
I usually try to order one.

Derek,I know it may be "State of the Saw" but it looks a little like one of those Rube Goldberg inventions. Can't see it in my hand, in my "seaton" chest or on the wall.
Well...maybe on the wall.
Maybe in the kitchen for slicing bread? Is it dishwasher safe?Boiler
Hi Boiler
It's amazing for making potato chips.
Un-believable!

Derek,Now there's a thought!Boiler
I'm getting rid of my wife's "veggie-matic" and replacing with one of those to give the veggie's a hand cut look.. ha.. ha... ha..ha..ha..

Sarge..
Sarge,If you use it on a slant, you can either cut Julienne or just old fashioned French cut.Doc
Saw something similar in a medical museum. Not sure what part of the body it was used on, maybe for slicing the hams?Dan Carroll
derek,
"amazing for making potato chips."
Even from those notoriously difficult-to-peel Aussie potatoes?
haha ;-))

APRIL FOOLS!!!!!
I'm thinking of filing off the teeth, sharpening the edges, and marketing it to the chefs at BeniHana's.
where is the USB port and the Mp3 player?
I'm waiting for the Mk. II version, which will make Japanese dovetails.
-Andy
I'm waiting till next year. I hear they are going to come out with one with six, yes that's right, six blades. It will significantly speed up my production rate. I will be able to work on six jewelery boxes at the same time. I might start making money then.
Thanks Derek. Good replies and responses from everyone. Not sure I'll buy this one, but I still like the multi-marking guage from a couple years ago.

Hi Alan
I have a special one with a high cutting angle on the teeth for our local interlinked hardwoods. Each tooth was specially hollow ground at 62 degrees (special attachment for the LV Honing Guide) and then microbevelled. No tearout at all!
Just A-mazing!

Maybe I would not spend so much time looking for stuff if I had a belt like that just walk by it and it would stick to your belt, now where is my pencil.
Mike, I believe you have come up with a good way to fully utilise the potential of this tool....500lbs of kit.....Philip Marcou
I just lost a ton of respect for Lee Valley! That belt looks like something off of a Village People album cover.
Who in their right mind would ever own such a device?
"Who in their right mind would ever own such a device?"
Almost nobody, except on 1St April.Philip Marcou
