Gonna throw this out FYI: Two of us from WWA have ordered the Freud LU84M while they were one sale at Amazon. Both of our saw blades arrived with broken teeth and obvious damage to the internal packaging, i.e., the blade package appeared to have been dropped right on it’s edge onto something hard (say, cement?). Of course Amazon instructs us to contact the manufacturer, which because Charles is such a good guy, isn’t super-difficult. But sheesh!
So, if you need a blade that’s guaranteed to be in good shape, because you need to slap it on your saw “yesterday” and go to work…….try local.

Yeah, same here. I bought a set of the Freud 6" dado blades that were 50% off. I thought my procrastinating finally paid off! The blades were okay, but the holder had cracks. Guess that's why it was on sale.
You know, Amazon should really disclose things like that, instead of deferring you to the manufacturer.
The other buyer, Gene, has figured out how to return it to Amazon. We've alerted "Charles from Freud" about the situation, so he can send an alert to whomever in management deals with those kinds of issues. I'll sit down on Monday or Tuesday and get mine sent back to Amazon also. Assuming the can send me an undamaged blade! If Charles suggests sending it back to Freud, just to be safe, I'll do that.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Well, both Gene and I received our replacement blades from Amazon, and the were both afflicted with broken teeth. I stopped counting at 5 teeth, who knows. Called Amazon this time, got a "team leader" on the phone, and explained in excrutiating detail the packages I received and the fact that the breakage could not possibly be a manufacturing defect (they always try and put it off on the manuf). She's going to send the whole issue up the ladder for "investigation" and the LU84 will probably be pulled from inventory until they know what's causing the problem. Sheesh.
Great foot work, let amazon eat the loss.Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!
