hello everyone , newbie here
I am trying to track down a supplier /manufacturer of a rotary planer head to fit an air powered angle grinder , I saw one in a fine woodworking article on air carving ,way back, around the late 80’s ? the photo showed a guy using one for FAST stock removal , i remember the article said ” USED IN THE VENEER TRADE FOR BARK REMOVAL” I t was 6″ diameter steel block with three knives out of the bottom of the block .
Has anyone out there Seen this thing! the article was on power wood carving , air tools mostly, trow and holden air hammers in particular. ring any bells???
thanks

That rotary tool hasn't been made in years. See the Arbortech and Karbide Kutzall in pretty much all the catalogs on carving and woodworker such as woodcraft, lee vally, etc. Trow and Holden are nice but there are adapters to use regular caring tools in cheap air chisels. See also automach, wecher in the carving catalogs. We also made a 6" head to use the arbortech carbide circle cutters. That Pro Arbortech tool gives a nice finish compare the the chainsaw types.

You can cut flats with the arbortech. It's just a matter of how the tool is handled.
