Looking for an Acacia or S hittim Wood supplier, actually just small turning blanks for pens and other of the like…It is the wood that was used to build the Ark of the Covenant and other Biblical Furniture.
Any Ideas,
Adam

Adam,
I did a bit of surfing and found a lot of listings. Just check Google or Yahoo. A rather interesting tidbit I found concerns the use of Acacia in Synagogues. Because of its use in the Ark, it's the preferred wood in many parts of the synagogue.
BTW Genesis says that Noah's Ark was built from gopher wood. I check all over on that one, and the best I came up with was in the dictionary: Wood Noah used to construct the Ark. HA!

Yes, many of the woods mentioned in the Bible are not known any longer by the same name and we don't nessecarily know the new name. So gopher wood may be many different woods that currently grow in the middle east. Finding the correct names out interests me greatly. I'd love to make a pen out of the same wood that Moses's crew made the ark of the covenant out of. Same with other biblical woods...

Just re-read your post, the Ark I am speaking of is not Noah's Ark; rather, Moses's Ark, the Ark of the Covenant was used to house some significant items in the pre-christ biblical era. Unfortuneatly the Ark was hidden after it's "housing" was destroyed a few times (The Israel, Palestine thing has been going on for a long time) and no one knows where it is, unless you buy into some peoples "conspiracy theories"...
Sorry for the off topic post, but wanted to clarify...
