A chum has contacted me to ask if Acacia is suitable for flooring (presumably he has been offerred some) – has anyone out there ever used it? I know there are a lot of species, but no idea which he has been offerred.
Many thanks,
Ozzy

I've made furniture with Black Acacia. It is tough, hard, and dense. It'd make fine flooring, if you could get enough. There are northern-hemisphere cousins to acacia -- locust, mesquite, and koa -- which are also hard and dense. So probably your acacia would be good flooring, but perhaps Austrailian acacia is different. Try to learn the actual species.

Hi, Jamie, good to meet you.
I will have a word with my chum, maybe he can talk to the supplier for info on the species. Thanks for the info.
Take care,
Ozzy
