A new era in woodworking publications
‘Welcome to a New Woodworking Journal’ from the Editor mailbox. <!—-> <!—-><!—->
Will this be the next generation of woodworking publications to come? Now in this time of changes, we look for new and better ideas for the future; I see guild publications taking the next step. These publications are open to their members to summit articles and are not limited to on-staff contributors nor or they subject to advertiser’s pressures to support them.

I am missing something here. Can you elaborate or attach a link to the "New Woodworking Journal"?

Against this backdrop, it was especially refreshing to see a new magazine arrive in our offices. It's the premier issue of The Journal of the Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers, published by one of the best woodworking associations in the country.
And did any of your current FineWoodworking readers receive a copy? I would think not!
If I was the BOSS, I'd have a long talk with Marketing folks!
This represents, IMHO, the future of the way in which we communicate. This is a more personal and connected way to reach people of like interest free of the puffery and compromise that is much of today's media. The guild system served us well in past years and maybe we are seeing the reemergence of the concept, albeit in a radically different form.
Perfect example; the Society of American Period Furniture Makers annual publication.
