And he was younger than me by a LONG Shot… Very nice man, and I’d bet he thought I was the the local town drunk. I was not drunk! I have to drive 40 miles to get to my local Rockler! I NEVER DRINK DRIVE TILL THE NEXT DAY! I told him to call my Local wood supplier..

Depends on what being sold.......
If it was a big enough chunk, and if it was a type that could be sliced into veneer, then seven grand is a good investment -- but only iof you have the equipment.

And it seems to me that an even more expensive ancient wood is being marketed in the europe (or is it the middle east?)
My local Rockler has had two large slabs of waterfall bubinga for sale. They are about 2 1/2" thick 36" x 72", $5000.00 each on sale. I'm not sure I could lift one by myself, they have to be several hundred pounds apiece.
