Hello All !
I have a 6 inch Jet jointer, which I purchased about 4 to 5 years ago. I am very happy with it. a short while ago I had problems with noise, I have corrected that, but now I have trouble with a snip taken out of the rear of the stock, every thing goes well, until the last inch or 1 1/4 when the snip happens, has anyone come across this, and what did you do to correct it.
Thanks Jack

Try raising the outfeed table slightly & see if the snipe decreases. If so, keep raising outfeed table & making test cuts until snipe is gone.
Thanks Piker I will try that

Piker Thanks, I tried it to-day and it worked great, thanks again.

I think piker's right, and if you can't raise the outfeed, lower the blades
There's enough youth in this world, how 'bout a fountain of SMART??!!
Andy, the 6" Jet jointer and it's cousins from Delta, Powermatic, Grizzly etc., etc., all have adjustable outfeed tables. As far as I know the only time you'll run across non-adjustable outfeed jointer tables would be in bench-top models (4") or possibly incredibly cheap ol' junk.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
