the table is complete except for staining and final assembly, but its in pieces all over the house!!
the chairs are really testing my skills, the bottom U shape is steam bent and laminated, mortise and tenon construction is not my forte but becoming so!!
yesterday it was "how do i cut tenons into 100 spindles(both ends)", now its "how do i accurately cut the matching mortises"
the spindle tenons are round, the drilling the mortises is easy, its the layout around the curve, obviously a template is the way to go
Interesting design, and nice work, Steve.You might consider having dinner guests sign waivers of damage, though. Whacking one's knee against those table legs is surely to "leave a mark". ;-)
