Gary,
Am looking for some form of illustrated technique for the classic Chinese 3-way miter (not the FWW “simplified 3 way). Also I believe called a Parson’s Joint. Since you are the “joint man” could you help? the “Tage Frid” illustrations are poor as are the old FWW b/w issue stuff.I looked but didn’t see it listed in your joint book. Poorly illustrated done in an old Rodale book.
…..Perhaps an article?
I don’t do Chocolate Chip cookies, but I do a fantastic Biscotti….
Thanks,
John (just south of you – between the Grey whales and the Dungeness Crabs)

Dear Boiler,
I love that bay by the way and I accept any form of baked bribery.
Page 362 of my CIG to Joinery book shows a method for a triple miter. I included in frame joints.
It's not easy to cut because it has integral tenons, but it does work and has some strength. Of course another alternative is to cut the miters and then use loose tenons, a method not illustrated in the book. Good luck. Gary
Thanks Gary,
I'll get the book.
Next time I run up a big batch, I'll email you where to send.
John
