In a two car garage/shop there is always the moisture problem from the cars coming in wet and or full of snow here in the midwest. I keep the cast iron well maintained and sealed using Empire products. In the mornings IF there are puddles of water on the floor from the cars I squeege it out the door before I leave. Outside of leaving the cars out (not an option) is there more I could do, or a better way? Just hate to not take care of the shop to the best of my knowledge and abilities.

Are you having problems with rust?
John W.
Once in awhile I do. It is usually in the same 2 spots on the Unisaw. I scrubbed the whole top with Empire's Top Saver with some Scotch Brite pads, then resealed with a couple more coats and finally their Table top lubricant. See what happens now.
All the tops get the same treatment, they are fine, but the Uni is problematic. I attribute it to the amount of use and friction compared to the BS,DP, Jointer, Planer.
There is some respectable equipment in the garage. I am asking if I have missed something along the way? Perhaps I should recoat once a month regardless? Tools are only as good as the owner maintains them.
