How readily available is 1 sided MDO in thin thickness, say 1/4 or 5/16, or up to 3/8, if I want it in 4×10 sheets?
How about 1/4″ luan at that size?
I am planning to make garage doors, and these will be the skins of the panels.

Potlatch, alargelumberwholesaler) will make plywood up to about 8'x65'.
Try lumber yards in your area that cater to proffesionals. They sometimes have plywood in longer lengths than Home Depot.
I think after 8' or 9' though, there is a scarf joint, with ply....not sure about MDO. Maybe look at exterior MDF like Extera (sp?)cabinetmaker/college woodworking instructor. Cape Breton, N.S
You're pretty much correct. There was a plywood mill locally that had a lathe that could peel 12' veneer and presses to make the panels but they've been out of business for quite some time. Ten foot panels should be available.

Your local cabinet suppy wholesaler should carry something in 10' lengths. I've purchased 10' sheets of birch ply from Paxton before.
