My first clock and it was a lot of fun. Made of walnut (top & bottom) and spalted pecan (sides) with a spray lacquer finish.

I built this for a Christmas family gift exchange where our limit is $20. The clock face, quart movement and hands were $10.50 (including shipping).

The back slides out from underneath to get access to the battery or to whatever you might want to stash back there.  It's held in place by rare earth magnets and another small piece of walnut.
