Cherry Frame Mirror

This was my first piece I designed and built myself. I wanted to design something that was unique (instead of always working from someone else's plans) and challenged my woodworking techniques and abilities a bit. I settled on this mirror frame that was fairly simple, but challenged me to to think about the design and how I would build it. I guess you could say my design (with gently curving horizontal pieces) "mirrored" my confidence to work outside my comfort zone of 90 degree angles.
I used some beautiful curly cherry that had a wonderful shimmer. I finished it with tung oil and wax.
