I built this table for a friend of mine . He said he'd like some inlay but wanted it to be

fairly modern looking too.

I think i managed to get a fine finish on the table top. After all the sanding i raised the grain using a wet cloth. The next day i sanded again with 320grit. I then sealed the wood and gave it another fine sand. 3 coats of Danish oil and then the following day i used water with 320grit 'wet &dry' . This got rid of all the bumps and unevenness. Using water with the wet&dry i find is great. After that i used about 10 coats of danish oil. This was applied using only a cloth and only wiped on very thinly.

I wanted the detail to be seen on the tops of the legs hence my idea of raing the tabletop slightly.
