This headboard reflects a strong Asian infleunce in my work lately. I realized the client liked Greene and Greene pieces which allowed me some clarity and direction.
This detail shows the floating panels and mortised tapered columns. The Top and Posts are 3 7/8 by 3 7/8 solid. All radius edges are carved true to the design.

The rooms layout and design dictated a diagonal placement for the king sized bed. We opted for a shelf with storage below and a custom headboard to fit into a 1912 Bungalow with original interior details. This design evolved from several meetings and about four sketches. Two large Mahogany planks reclaimed from Baldy's shop attic lumber storage made it all possible.
