This live edge ash coffee table is from a tree taken down some fifteen years ago when we built our house. We had several cherry and ash logs. I stickered, stacked , and air dried it, and proceeded to use it for various projects. This table is from the last few ash boards, and has Nakashima inspired cherry dovetail or “butterfly” keys holding the live edges together. Breadboard ends screwed from below to slotted tenons allow for top movement. There is a hidden drawer on the right short end for coasters, napkins, etc., which looks like a top rail. The finish is an alcohol based stain, followed by an oil stain, followed several days after drying with pre-catalyzed sprayed lacquer.
