Provence Dining Table

Photo: Christian Jacques

Massive Provence dining table featuring a 1" solid walnut top.  The solid red oak leg and horizontal cross-member, which are both 4" large x 4" thick, form a corner assembled with a bridal joint. The apron is joined to the corner with a dry mortise and tenon joint reinforced with a couple of hidden hanger bolt. This allows the table to be disassembled.  Extension mechanism uses extra heavy-duty full extension drawer slides screwed to hardwood L-shaped pieces.  30" high x 40" wide x 76" long. Extends to 94" long with a leaf (not shown).  Finish is polymerized tung oil.

Sorry for the late reply, I only saw your comment today. I just uploaded a picture of thre plan I used. It is not a complicated piece so I did not go overboard with plans showing every detail.

As for the leaf extension hardware I bought the extra heavy duty slides at Lee Valley: http://www.leevalley.com/hardware/page.aspx?c=1&p=50505&cat=3,43614,43620&ap=1.

Thanks for the posting and any advice/plans you might have.

Cheers,
Bill
