I saw this design in one of the Fine Woodworking turning books. Must have been Richard Raffan. It was too fun to pass up.

It's made from a small chunck of hard maple and finished with a roughed-up walnut stain to give it an old-timey look.

Blackwill Blackwill writes: Nice!! One of my (countless)hobbies is Medieval re-creation, and I think this would make an awesome Salt Cellar for my camp kitchen (or my home kitchen, for that matter...).

I'm a sucker for the "old-timey" look :)
