This is a basement shop in Ohio, about 1400 sq ft with heating and a/c. In order to minimize dust it is separated from the rest of the living spaces and the homes mechanical room. It was important to me to make it as light, bright and airy as possible. It has direct access to the outside via a Bilco door. In addition I’ve put in a large (2200 cfm) vac system with modern filters. The vac system is located in a somewhat sound proofed room…with furnace filters to clean the air even further before it comes back into the shop. One advantage is that the vac doesn’t suck out the heat/ac. It makes for a clean, bright room to be creative in. A good sound system just ramps it up even more! 🙂 I should mention that there is a workbench designed by John White….that has seen constant use for at least 10 years or more now. Did I mention that I LOVE being in my shop? 🙂

A digital readout on the AccuMarking gauge measures to the nearest 0.0005 in. It can also be set to fractions or millimeters.
